WARNING:  The below procedure will erase all notes stored in ram memory.  Read below instructions completely before attempting battery replacement.

Step 1:  Turn writer upside down.

Step 2:  Remove the four corner screws from the metal plate in which the tripod attaches.

Step 3:  Remove the metal plate and with it will come the battery.  Make note of how the battery is positioned on the metal plate for reinstallation of the new battery.  Also, make note of how the bench stand is positioned.

Step 4:  Follow the black and red wires to a white connector.  The white connector will have a clip on it; depress the clip and pull the connector apart.

Step 5:  The battery is held to the metal plate by a metal strap.  Loosen the two screws attached to the metal strap and slide the battery out from the metal strap.

Step 6:  Slide the new battery onto the metal plate and under the metal strap (the battery should be positioned in the same location on the metal plate as the old one).  Now tighten the two screws attached to the metal strap.

Step 7:  Plug the white connector attached to the new battery into the white connector attached to the writer.

Step 8:  Start positioning the metal plate attached to the battery into its normal position onto the writer.  As you position the metal plate, tuck the black and red wires between the main circuit board and the bottom shell.  Also, make sure your bench stand is in place.

Step 9:    Secure the metal plate by installing the four corner screws on  the metal plate.  Turn your writer right side up and check underneath the keyboard to make sure the black and red wires are not blocking the travel of the keys when they are depressed.

Step 10:  Test your writer to make sure it is working properly.
