WARNING:   The below procedure can cause damage to you or your writer if not followed properly. You or anyone deciding to replace plastic key tops takes full liability for any damage that may occur.

Step 1:  Grab the plastic key top with a pair of needle nose pliers and rock plastic key top back and forth while pulling up with needle nose pliers (plastic key top may come off whole or it may break into pieces).

Step 2:  If plastic key top breaks into pieces and some pieces of plastic are still adhering to the metal lever, you then have to break off the pieces of plastic with the needle nose pliers or scrape the excess plastic and glue with a knife (CAUTION:  please be careful not to cut yourself with knife).  Make sure any plastic residue and old glue is removed from the metal lever before going to the next step

Step 3:  Align plastic key top to determine what slot on bottom of plastic key top metal lever will insert into.

Step 4:  Put one drop of super glue onto metal lever; make sure not to drip super glue onto any plastic surfaces.  You may want to use super glue gel; it does not drip as easily (CAUTION:  super glue scars plastic surfaces).

Step 5:  Important:  Support metal lever by placing your hand under keyboard to relieve any pressure when pressing down on plastic key top.  By doing this, your hand absorbs the pressure of pressing down on plastic key top instead of the internal parts of your writer absorbing the pressure.

Step 6:  Now press down plastic key top onto metal lever while rocking plastic key top back and forth. Continue pressing plastic key top down until plastic key top is level with other keys.
