Will Not Power On (Stentura)

Step 1:  Remove battery and plug charger into writer.  If writer powers up, you have a faulty battery (a battery sometimes goes bad due to an internal short in the battery; if this happens, the writer may not power up on battery or charger).

Step 2:  If writer does not power up, check to see if the disk activity light (disk activity light is a green light located on the face plate of the disk drive) comes on when charger is plugged into writer or check to see if you can hear the disk drive running.  If you see a disk activity light or can hear the disk drive running, try adjusting the display contrast adjustment knob located on the left rear of writer.

Step 3:  If writer does not power up, try using someone else's Stentura charger or battery.
