TopCat Steno offers writer contracts. Below is an outline of basic coverage and features that can be added to customize the basic coverage to your needs. If there is a feature not listed, but you would like to include, please contact us (800.937.8228).
Your writer must pass a pre-inspection before it is eligible for coverage, or to waive pre-inspection, you can purchase the contract but it will not go into effect for 60 days.
This contract covers all mechanical and electronic components for a period of one (1) year, excluding writer shell, tripod, charger, external battery or batteries, case, ribbon cartridge, paper tray, memory cards and realtime cable.
Basic contract cost is $390.00 and must be accepted before any additional options outlined below are accepted.

Option 1: add $150 for Cleaning. TopCat Professional Writer Tune-up Cleaning:
Customer is entitled to one free professional writer cleaning within the contractual time period. Writer will be serviced within 48 hours of writer being received by TopCat Steno, Inc., excluding weekends and holidays, unless some unforeseen circumstance should arise.

Option 2: add $90 for Loaner. Under this option customer is entitled to a loaner writer of similar make and model. Option 3 must be selected if customer is not picking up writer from TopCat Steno, Inc.

Option 3: add $90 for Loaner Shipping. This option covers shipping of loaner to customer (2-Day Service), shipping of customer’s writer to TopCat Steno, Inc. (2-Day Service), shipping of customer’s writer to customer (2-Day Service) and shipping of loaner back to TopCat Steno, Inc. (2-Day Service). TopCat Steno, inc. will supply all shipping air bills (to and from customer). Any shipping cost incurred by customer will not be reimbursed.

Option 4: add $60 for fast Turnaround Time. Under this option customer is entitled to a 24-hour turnaround time.

Option 5: add $50 for Writer Shipping. This option features Next Day Air shipping.

Contract does not cover writers that are lost or stolen. TopCat Steno, Inc. is not responsible for any damage caused to writer during shipping. This contract does not cover the writer if damage is the result of abuse, such as: 1) drops and falls; 2) acts of God, i.e., floods, lightning, rain, wind, earthquakes, hurricanes, fire, or any other natural catastrophe; 3) war, nuclear disaster, or terrorism. Writer repaired or serviced by persons other than TopCat Steno, Inc. will null and void this contract, and monies paid for contract will not be refunded.
